The lavatories at this resort have won numerous awards and have been featured in a number of media formats because they are “kewl”.
Sure, it’s pretty neat to walk up to the lav and have the pre-temp’d water flow automatically. Then as you wash you realize the school of fish you see are actually 50 million year old fossils. Water shuts off and you walk away past the slate and cork and dry your hands on a nice towel.
The thing that nags you afterward and the reason I get so many comments about these facilities is that the intention behind the design of each of these was to get you to see the folly of spending or not spending $ on drinks, dinner and a luxury suite because at the end of the day……the best you can hope for is to be immortalized in a slab of sediment for future generations…..IF and only IF it is stumbled upon by a being who can recognize it’s “kewl-ness”.
